Some rules concerning the use of the library

In addition to the General Rules of the University Library pdf (Dutch), the following stipulations have to be observed in the Campus Library of Biomedical Sciences:

  • Eating, drinking or smoking is not allowed in the library, except drinking mineral water in a recloseable packing.
  • Do not disturb the other visitors in the library. Keep silent in the quiet areas. On the third floor of the library, special areas are reserved for teamwork, where discussion is allowed. Please ask where these areas are at the information desk.
  • Limited and discrete use of (mobile) telephones is allowed, on condition that it does not disturb the other library visitors. Be courteous and leave the library if you want to hold a long conversation. An elegant solution would be to switch of the ringing tone of your mobile phone (and activate the alert vibration if necessary).
  • You may bring bags into the library, but it is easier to store them in the appropriate lockers in the cloak-room (deposit fee of 1 euro, to be paid at the information desk).
  • All library material should be treated with the utmost care. Making notes in books or journals is not allowed.
