Reprography, Computer use and WiFi
Reprography
There are 2 photocopiers (one in the basement and one on the first floor) at the library users' disposal. They can be operated with copy cards available at the desk:

The copy cards of FBIB can also be used in the Central Library (BIBC) and in all the libraries of the human sciences: philosophy (FBIB), theology (GBIB), social sciences (SBIB), law (RBIB), arts (LBIB), psychology and educational sciences (PBIB) and economics and applied economics (ETEW).
Library users are expected to observe copyright laws. The University Library is not responsible for violations of copyright laws.
Computer use
On the PCs in the library, facilities required by students and staff members to assist in their study and research are available:
- Access via the internet to library catalogues, databases, full text databases, learning platforms, ...
- Word processing programs
- E-mail.
Attention
Computers can only be accessed with a succesful login. Students and staff should use their user-id and password. Other registered users can request a password at the desk. Data from the LIBIS catalogue, from the CD-ROMs and the internet can be saved on a floppy disk, a USB stick or on the H drive (temporary storage for students, the data will be erased after your sessions). Don't forget to logoff after your session using the logoff-icon.
Printing of data is possible via the printing module of the photocopier on the first floor. These prints are paid for with a copy card.
Readers can use their own laptop. Wireless access to the internet is available (succesful login necessary) throughout the library.
Printing from the wireless network
Establish a connection to a wireless network: Campusnet or Eduroam
INSTALLING THE PRINTER DRIVER:
Windows-users use this installer for the printer on the 1st floor, and this installer for the printer in the basement:
in browser Internet Explorer: Run
in other browsers ( Firefox, Chrome, ... ): download file, run or execute the file and delete the file afterwards
The install process can take a couple of minutes.
When the installation is completed, you'll find a new printer in your list of available printers:
PFBIB1 on ghumprt2.ghum.kuleuven.be for the printer on the 1st floor
PFBIB2 on ghumprt2.ghum.kuleuven.be for the printer in the basement
Mac and Linux-users cannot use this service yet.
PRINTING:
Print your document or file.
Go to a printer in the library.
Select your job. All printjobs that are printed from the wireless network have 'guest' as username, use the file name and time of printing to identify your print job.
Eduroam
Eduroam means educational roaming. Eduroam makes it possible for personnel and students to connect wirelessly to the Internet in a safe and easy way at a number of institutions, in Belgium and abroad. (more information [in dutch])
