Borrowing, Renewal, Reservation
FBIB is a loan library with open stacks: almost all of the documents can be loaned. A small number of books have a shelf number and the designation 'closed stack': these books are not directly accessible in the open stacks, but have to be requested at the library desk.

Readers are personally responsible for the books they borrow. They are not allowed to lend the books to others/third persons. Lost or damaged books must be paid for or replaced by the borrower responsible.
| Book renewals: | Before or on the due date, unless the book has been reserved by someone else. There are two possible ways to renew a book: in person or online LIMO. |

| Fines: | Borrowers will be fined for overdue books at a rate of 0,50 € per book per day, with a minimum fine of 1,00 €. |
| Book recalls: | Books borrowed by other readers may be reserved in person or online LIMO.. |
| Non-borrowable items: | documents marked with a red dot (reference books, bibliographies, books that cannot leave the library, ...) and with a green dot (required reading - course materials) journals offprints dissertations and theses books from the 'Academic collection' |
