Borrowing, Renewal, Reservation

FBIB is a loan library with open stacks: almost all of the documents can be loaned. A small number of books have a shelf number and the designation 'closed stack': these books are not directly accessible in the open stacks, but have to be requested at the library desk.

Number of books and borrowing period maximum 10 books for 3 weeks
Books marked with a yellow dot (short borrowing period): 1 week
Videos/DVD's: overnight borrowing, with payment of a deposit of € 6 per item

Readers are personally responsible for the books they borrow. They are not allowed to lend the books to others/third persons. Lost or damaged books must be paid for or replaced by the borrower responsible.

Book renewals: Before or on the due date, unless the book has been reserved by someone else. There are two possible ways to renew a book: in person or online LIMO.
Fines: Borrowers will be fined for overdue books at a rate of 0,50 € per book per day, with a minimum fine of 1,00 €.
Book recalls: Books borrowed by other readers may be reserved in person or online LIMO..
Non-borrowable items: documents marked with a red dot (reference books, bibliographies, books that cannot leave the library, ...) and with a green dot (required reading - course materials)
