Access to e-sources

What?

The e-sources of the University Library can be searched together with the other collections in Limo.

  • Databases, e-books and e-journals
All e-sources to which the University Libary subscribes or has a license to, and a selection of freely available e-sources (e.g. through Open Access).
  • Books and articles available in Lirias
Lirias is the digital repository of scientific publications by KU Leuven staff. As such it is also used for the university's Open Access policy.
  • Electronic publications indexed in Primo Central
Primo Central is an index of hundreds of millions articles and e-books (chapters), based on data offered by publishers and content providers or uploaded from open access-repositories. The index already covers various e-journal collections  and databases to which the University Library subscribes or has a license, or that are freely available. Primo Central still is a work in progress, though: the amount of content  still increases monthly.
Therefore consult thePdf filecurrent overview of indexed sources + selection of important sources that are not yet searchable in Primo Central (and Limo).

Where to consult?

The e-sources to which KU Leuven has a subscription or license can be consulted:

Within KU Leuven Campus Through a wired internet connection on your office workstation or a public workstation in the library buildings.
Through a wireless internet connection (e.g. in the library buildings).
Outside KU Leuven Campus KU Leuven students and staff can log in to the stuiterproxy for remote access to e-sources. A short manual and more info is available.

Any access problems can be reported to the e-sources department.

Some cd-rom databases were placed on an internal network. To consult these networked cd-databases you need to install a web client.. See: installation procedure Netman RDP web client (not on Mac and Linux, no remote access).
