Access/registration
The libraries of the K.U.Leuven are accessible for
all registered users. In the University Library the rules concerning
access and loan have to be observed. These rules are not the same
in all the libraries.° Therefore it is advisable to request information
for a specific branch library. You can do this by visiting the library
or by visiting the web pages.

° In the faculty library of
Theology, the Biomedical library and the Tabularium/University archives
there is no lending service. In the library of Exact sciences lending
is not allowed for external users.
The tariffs for specific services can differ according to reader category.

*To make use of the lending-services
a guarantee of € 25,00 must be paid.
The
guarantee can be used to compensate for damage or loss of publications
or when demands for payment are not honoured. After returning
your reader card, refund of the guarantee will be done
in cash or with a remittance on your bank- or postal account.
The reader card cannot be used by another person and has to
be shown at the request of the library staff.
A lost library pass can be replaced, after payment of an administration
fee of € 7,00.

Students and staff members are registered
automatically with their student or personnel card respectively.
External users of (non associated) institutions of higher education: students of other institutions of higher education,
on presentation of their student card, pay € 15,00
per year for a reader card.*
