What is the UB?

As a knowledge centre the University Library provides scientific information for students and researchers. In this support for research and education she develops a wide range of services.

The 24 KU Leuven libraries and learning centres are spread throughout 12 campuses in Flanders. A close cooperation with the libraries of the KU Leuven Association is established.
The University Archive takes care of the paper heritage of the university.


Studying in the library

  • You are welcomed to study in our libraries. The Learning centre AGORA is fully equipped to support your study, alone or as a group. Most of our libraries offer group study areas.
  • At our Study with a Buddy page you get an overview of available study seats. During study and exam periods you can also find here extra opening times of our reading rooms for study.



Electronic collection

Our e-sources are available to staff and students anywhere on campus through a wired or wireless internet connection. You can also consult this collection off campus.

Our documentary heritage is mainly kept in the Central Library, the University Archive and the Maurits Sabbe Library. It consists of exceptional collections and masterpieces of global importance.

The Kunstpatrimonium department contributes in the management of the art collections of KU Leuven.
