Computers
The library has 50 workstations, as well as several meeting
rooms, and copying & printing
facilities.
One can access KotNet (Wi-fi) in the library, read more.
External users can ask for a temporary access to the workstations at the information desk.
The computers can be used to search
the catalogue
(Limo), to check Mediargus (database with mainly
newspaper articles in Dutch), the Financial
Times and several databases.
Moreover, you can work on those computers with MS Office
applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word).
There are 2 computers (level 00 at the windows) that can be used exclusively
for Datastream and
1 computer for Amadeus, for
max. 2 hours.
Reservation by email or at the desk is necessary!
Reservations
for Amadeus and Datastream are cancelled after fifteen minutes of absence.
For Amadeus we need your motivation, some keywords, and the name of your
promotor. Check for the manuals here.
The calendars down here show the reservations of
Datastream & Amadeus live.
Staff members are not allowed to consult Amadeus and Datastream in our library! They have access to Datastream and Amadeus through their pc's in their office. Staff members have to sign up for Amadeus. Invoices for Amadeus will be send to staff members twice a year. For Datastream invoices will be send based on the time the database was consulted.
Students can also consult Amadeus online! Most of the functionalities are available in the online access but consultation of ownership data is not possible and some analyses are restricted. There is also a limit (500!) on the number of companies you can consult. The URL is: https://amadeus.bvdinfo.com/kuleuven.aspx. Consultation of this online database can only be done on the pc's of the library EBIB.
External students and others (non K.U.Leuven Association) are not allowed to use Datastream or Amadeus.
The results of a search query in a database can be printed, sent by e-mail or downloaded on a CD-ROM or memory stick. See price list.
