Reference works

Reference works (Dutch) can be found in all sorts of formats and treating all kinds of subjects. They are so called 'secondary literature'. You often won't find a direct answer to your question but a reference to other sources where you probably will find the answers you are looking for. Last mentioned sources are so called 'primary literature'.

Digitization of these scientific reference works is coming on substantially. In the table below you can find links to the electronic version of some reference works.

But, due to the competition between publishers and non-scientific web based sources and search engines (such as Wikipedia, Google, Bing, etc.), the progress in digitization is slowed down. Furthermore, the market for such scientific databases is rather limited which causes the cost price to be quit high.
